Mollypops Music Hour, #1 Best Of All Time Edition!
WELL WELL WELL.
Not like I'd leave you without an MPMH for the weekend! It just has to be a day late due to outside factors. And now that I've had my extra day, the list is as perfected as one can hope for. I'm not kidding, I had this draft prepped with 12 songs in the list with youtube links, but I just couldn't sort them. It's really a tale of two lists, the top 5, and then the final 2 slots.
Mamalarky is back with us again, fresh off of their new album, which I alluded to in this post that somehow got negative notes? I'll be honest, our new number 1 song was released as a single some time ago, and while I didn't hate it at the time, I didn't like it either.
WHICH BOY DOES THAT SHOW THE FUN POWER OF MUSIC.
Cuz I'll tell you, that track is a friggin grower. I love it....it's such a great car listen with the windows down. I loooooooooooooooove the juxtaposition of the chaotic beat with the dreamy slow lyrics. It's like if oil and water somehow COULD mix together and make distorted, yet gorgeous sound that AMPS YOU UP.
Another Mamalarky song comes in at number 3, which I had at number 2 initially but upon reflection, it's slightly too basic to claim such a high spot. I'm saying that while also saying I love that song and it fucking rules.
We have a dual band thing going with the rise of Telula in my biosphere. I have yet to listen to their other album, but I expect more of their songs landing on this list in the near future.
And lastly, spots 6 and 7, just an absolute bloodbath of songs that I had to pare down to reach these final two. Unfortunately, Blah Blah Blah doesn't have it's own youtube video, but I believe I was able to edit the correct timestamp on the youtube link, so it should start there (I think it was like the 4:52 mark or so).
So yeah, the list, as usual, remains strong. Everytime I doubt it, it brings me more resources. And in 2 weeks, I'll just tell you, expect to hear some ANDOR music!
